President Trump Honors 7x Mr. Olympia Phil Heath in Historic Black History Month Event at the White House

Bodybuilding titan Phil Heath continues to receive recognition for his monumental impact on the sport, despite stepping away from active competition. On February 20, 2025, the 45th and 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, honored Heath at the White House in a landmark Black History Month celebration, acknowledging his dominance and contributions to professional bodybuilding.

Phil Heath reigned as one of the most formidable Mr. Olympia champions in history, etching his name alongside legends. His seven consecutive Sandow trophies (2011-2017) place him in elite company, tying him with none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Throughout his tenure, Heath thwarted elite contenders like Kai Greene, Dennis Wolf, and Branch Warren, asserting his dominance on the Olympia stage.

Heath’s signature 3D physique, ultra-dense muscle bellies, and unparalleled conditioning made him an unstoppable force. His most recent competition came in 2020, where he secured third place behind Brandon Curry and two-time Olympia king Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay.

As an inductee of the prestigious International Sports Hall of Fame, Heath stands among the most decorated bodybuilders to ever grace the stage. While he has yet to formally retire, accolades continue pouring in, solidifying his legacy as one of the sport’s most influential figures.

Recognition from the President of the United States for achievements in bodybuilding is a rarity. Regardless of political views, Heath’s impact on the sport is undeniable, inspiring generations of athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

Find what President Trump had to say below:

“We’re also joined by seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath — I want to see this guy, where’s Phil. Phil Heath I don’t want to compare my muscles. Thank you Phil very much, I appreciate it,” said President Trump.

Heath was honored by President Trump’s statement, and issued a response:

“Ya know! 😎

Shoutout to 45/47
@realDonaldTrump
for the shoutout. You’re the 🐐” Phil Heath shared.

It’s worth noting that Heath never officially announced his retirement from bodybuilding. In April 2023, he teased a potential comeback, stating that he would consider returning to the Mr. Olympia or Masters Olympia stage for a $1 million prize. Given his impeccable conditioning and elite genetics, fans speculate that Heath could still be a serious contender against today’s best competitors.

Phil Heath remains one of the most celebrated and influential athletes in IFBB Pro League history. With his White House recognition from President Trump in 2025, his impact on the sport only continues to expand, cementing his place as a true bodybuilding icon.
