Dan Solomon Unveils Date and Venue for 2025 Mr. Olympia, Vows 'Record-Breaking Prize Purse'
Bodybuilding enthusiasts can mark their calendars as the 2025 Mr. Olympia Weekend is officially slated to return to Resorts World in Las Vegas, Nevada, running from October 9-12.
Olympia President Dan Solomon has ambitious plans lined up for the bodybuilding community. On February 6, 2025, he announced that the prestigious Mr. Olympia competition will once again take place in Las Vegas at the iconic Resorts World venue from October 9-12. Solomon also hinted at an unprecedented payout, promising competitors the 'largest prize money by far' in the history of the event.
The 2024 Mr. Olympia was a landmark event, setting new standards in professional bodybuilding by distributing nearly $2 million in total prize money to its elite athletes. In the Men’s Open division, Samson Dauda delivered a career-defining performance, capturing the coveted Sandow trophy and etching his name in bodybuilding history as the 19th champion. Olympia owner Jake Wood stunned fans and competitors alike by presenting Dauda with a groundbreaking $600,000 check—the highest prize ever awarded to an IFBB Pro competitor.
With the 2025 Mr. Olympia on the horizon, anticipation is mounting within the bodybuilding world. The confirmed dates, venue, and location have set the stage, and Dan Solomon has begun offering glimpses into what the Olympia brand has in store for athletes, sponsors, and fans ahead of what promises to be a monumental event in the sport's history.
Dan Solomon Reveals 2025 Mr. Olympia Dates: October 9-12 in Las Vegas with 'Record-Breaking Prize Money'
In a recent YouTube announcement, Olympia President Dan Solomon confirmed that the prestigious Mr. Olympia competition will make its return to Las Vegas, Nevada at the Resorts World venue, scheduled for October 9-12.
“We’re going to go back to Resorts World. A tremendous home for the Olympia. A lot of people who came to the event they got to experience that next-level environment.
Solomon also guaranteed that this year’s event will feature the 'largest prize money by far' in the history of professional bodybuilding.
“You’re going to come to the Olympia. You’re going to see the best in the world compete. You’re going to see the largest prize money — by far — play out on that stage.
You’re going to see a tremendous expo, but you’re also going to see new technologies, new innovations, new parts of the overall commitment to longevity and fitness and healthy living.”
Furthermore, Solomon addressed critiques regarding the event’s organization, emphasizing the importance of consistent growth and improvements with each passing year. He acknowledged that moving the Men’s Open prejudging to an earlier slot on Friday had an unintended impact on audience engagement for the subsequent divisions.
“We really work hard to listen to the feedback, we do. But there’s a lot of hypocrisy that goes on. Some of the same people that will talk about the importance of growing the event, bringing more money into the event, will also criticize the things that we do and will suggest things that actually make the event feel smaller.”
“The fiscal success of the event is what allows us to grow. It’s what allowed us to present nearly $2 million in prize money at the Olympia.”
As the pinnacle event in the fitness and bodybuilding calendar, fans eagerly anticipate how Olympia will elevate the spectacle in 2025. Previously, Olympia owner Jake Wood expressed interest in hosting the event at the iconic Las Vegas Sphere—a vision that has yet to come to fruition but promises an unparalleled experience if realized.
“We got some pressure to move it [Men’s Open prejudging] earlier into the night which we did. And it went fine. We may do that again, we may not. But I will tell you this: when the Men’s Open prejudging ended on Friday night, we have two divisions after that, a third of the building emptied out,”
