Farhad Noori, a competitive Afghan bodybuilder known for his appearances in the NPC Men’s Physique division, has confessed to a brutal vehicular assault in Munich that left 36 people injured.

Multiple reports confirm that Noori, a well-built athlete with years of physique training, deliberately drove a Mini Cooper into a densely packed crowd of 1,500 people. German authorities have classified the incident as an act of Islamic extremism. Following his arrest, Noori reportedly dropped to his knees, reciting prayers and shouting “Allahu Akbar,” a phrase meaning “God is most great.”

Prosecutor Gabriele Tilmann revealed that Noori’s interrogation spanned over two hours, during which he expressed religious motivations for his violent actions. Investigators currently believe he acted independently, with no direct ties to any organized terrorist groups.

In response to the shocking attack, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has taken a strong stance, calling for Noori’s immediate deportation from the country.

“This perpetrator cannot hope for any leniency. He must be punished and he must leave the country. If it was an attack, we must take consistent action against possible perpetrators with all means of justice.”

The attack occurred just a mile from a high-profile conference in Munich, where world leaders—including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—had gathered for diplomatic discussions.

Who is Farhad Noori?

Farhad Noori, a 24-year-old Afghan migrant with deep ties to the bodybuilding world, is known for sculpting an elite-level physique. Born in 2001, Noori arrived in Germany in 2016 as a 15-year-old seeking asylum after leaving Afghanistan. His application for asylum was ultimately rejected.

Despite his uncertain legal status, Noori built a career centered around fitness, leveraging both the bodybuilding stage and social media. His now-deactivated Instagram account once boasted over 100,000 followers, where he regularly showcased his competition-ready physique, intense gym sessions, and passion for aesthetics. In addition to bodybuilding, Noori displayed a keen interest in high-end fashion and luxury sports cars

Noori made his mark in the competitive scene in 2024, stepping on stage twice in the NPC circuit. He claimed victory in the Men’s Physique division at the NPC Worldwide Deutsche Meisterschaft in May and later secured a fifth-place finish at the prestigious Worldwide Dennis James Classic Germany in October.

Reports confirm that Noori was in Germany legally and had no prior criminal record. Outside of bodybuilding, he worked as a security guard, balancing his profession with an intense dedication to fitness and competition.
